Claudia Thomas, President - Claudia, retired child psychiatrist, and her husband Mike, retired dentist,  
moved to the lake full time in August 2015 after building their home here in 2007.  They lived in Iowa
until moving and remain diehard Hawkeye fans! Claudia joined N/L shortly after moving here as she
knew she wanted to be a part of this club after reading about their activities and attending home tours.
She is honored to be a part of the board and looks forward to getting to know everyone better.
Linda Corning
Jane Wright, 1st VP - A retired college professor, Jane and her husband Bill moved  from St Louis to
the lake permanently in 2016. Jane grew up enjoying summers at the lake with her family and so it was
an obvious retirement choice for them. She enjoys sewing aprons as a hobby, along with reading and
traveling. Boating, hiking and kayaking round out their leisure time activities.
Donna Steele, 2nd VP - A long timer, newcomer Donna lived at the Lake from 1981 to 1998. She
owned the restaurant now called J B Hooks till 1994 and subsequently became a travel agent. She was
also active in the Lake Area Performing Arts Guild. Back for good from 10 years in Las Vegas and 3
years as a full time RV'er, Donna and husband, Dwayne are very happy to be home and involved in the

Iris Wright, Recording Secretary - Iris and her husband retired to the lake in July of 2015.  Although
they have been weekenders for the past 29 years.  They even spent their honeymoon here some 45
years ago. They love living at the lake and enjoying its amenities.  Iris loves being part of this group of
awesome women and everything they do for the community.

Katy Kirn, Corresponding Secretary  - Katy and her husband Tony have lived at the lake for 5 years,
moving here from Pekin, Il were they resided for 47 years.  Katy has been a member of N/L for five
years.  Katy has served as Hospitality chairman and Dining Out chair for the past 2 years.  
Lois Schweiss
Happy Hour
Rosie Losito, Treasurer - Rosie and her husband John were married in 1966 and have been
vacationing at the lake since then.  They moved here in 1976 from Illinois when they bought a business
at the lake.  Rosie worked at full time jobs until 2013 when she semi-retired.  She joined
Newcomers/Longtimers a few years ago, but has been more active since she retired.

Sue Bleigh, Parlimentarian/Scholarship Chair Sue and her husband Jim have lived at the lake
since midyear 2013, though they still have a house in Olathe, KS they fondly call their storage locker.  
Sue and her husband are huge Mizzou fans and love saying we are now back in Home Sweet Home
Missouri! Sue feels it is an honor to be the 2017-18 president. She wants  to give back to an
organization that has made the lake feel like home with fun and friendships for both her and Jim. Sue
also takes pride in giving back to the community through the money raised for local charities and
scholarships by the  N/L Home Tour.
Gail Stout
Couples Bunco
Karen Robinson, Hospitality - Karen and her husband Neil moved to the lake in 2007, after deciding
to leave their US and UK military and      defense industry careers to purchase Kapilana Resort in Osage
Beach, which they owned until May 2017.   They have just purchased a home off KK where Karen will
continue to run her travel agency and Neil will pursue his life-long hobby of building and flying RC
aircraft.  The couple are avid RVers, and also travel abroad whenever the opportunity presents itself,
often to visit children and grandchildren in England.   Karen joined N/L in 2013.  Karen has served on
the special activities committee and also served as editor of the newsletter.

Nancie Boland, Webmaster/Facebook/Home Tour Co-Chair - Nancie  and her husband Bruce do not
exactly live at the lake but it’s where she spends most of her time.  After  moving to Missouri more than
3 years ago and with no neighbors for a mile, she joined N/L so that she would meet people with
common interests.  She served as publicist for 2 years and as webmaster/facebook administrator for the
past 4 years in addition to serving on the home tour committee for the past 5 years and as chair in 2018.

Mary Ann Overkamp, Membership - MaryAnn and Dan have been part-timers at the lake since 1998,
enjoying weekend boating and then retired and moved here fulltime from St Louis in August of 2013.  
N/L has been a tremendous way to meet new people and we treasure all the new friends that we now
have at the lake.
Vickie Faulstich, Dining Out- Vickie, her husband and children moved to the Lake in 1982 to start
their company, Controlled Heating & Cooling.  Vickie is proud to say that after all of these years of
watching and seeing what wonderful things N/L does for the community, she is happy to have served
as President and now as the Scholarship Chair for this great organization.

Martha Black Morrow, Publicity - Martha and her husband, Tom, moved from Johnston, Iowa to the
lake full time in 2015.  They had a condo at Lands End for 5 years in which they frequented often as
part-timers.  Martha worked for Rain and Hail Insurance (crop, property and casualty and some equine)
for 25 years always in Human Resources.  Her last position held was Assistant Vice President of Human
Resources.  Prior to Rain and Hail she worked at a bank for 9 years.  She retired early in 2015 to the
lake to enjoy “the good life”.  Meeting new people was a challenge but she has made many friends thru
N/L.  Martha and Tom enjoy giving back to those less fortunate by giving to local charities in Missouri
which is one of the many reasons she joined this group in 2017.
Janet Lilly, Home Tour Co-Chair - Janet and her husband Ron moved to the lake in Jan.2014.  They
moved here from Des Moines, Iowa where they resided for over 43 years together.  Ron and Janet had
made frequent trips to the lake to partake in golf packages offered around the lake.  Janet joined NL
after Ron's  passing in Sept. 2017.  The Single Ladies really helped at the time of her own loss. Janet is
on the board of The Alzheimers Association and a member of the Senior Center of Lake Ozark and a
member of The Iowa Club here at the lake. She enjoys all the terrific women she has met through NL
and the many activities offered.
Julie Beecher, Community Awareness Julie and her husband retired to the lake 7 years ago. Julie  
enjoys boating,traveling,sewing and interior design is my passion! She is looking forward to working
with N/C this year.
Linda Eise, Community Awareness Co-Chair - Linda and her husband Lee moved to the lake full
time from Chesterfield, Missouri in 2013 and continued their careers remotely, until happily retiring this
past year. They have eight teenage grandchildren all living out of town, which can keep them busy with
their sports and activities. NC-LT offers Linda the opportunity to give back to the community and she
& Lee enjoy both meeting new friends through NC-LT events.
Cheryl Snapp, Special Activities – After working as an adjunct professor on the college level and as a
teacher, counselor and administrator in the Missouri Public School System for over twenty years,
Cheryl retired in 2008. Cheryl and husband Richard moved to the lake full time.  Cheryl then began
another career with the Department of Social Services as Licensing/Adoption Supervisor for the 26th
Circuit.  Cheryl retired for the second time four years ago and is enjoying traveling and spending time
with my family (five grandchildren) and friends.
Julie Lane VanMeter, Dining Out Co-Chair and a semi-retired condo accounting manager.  Julie
and her husband Chris moved from Wisconsin in March 2017.  Never having been to the Lake of the
Ozarks area before they picked some properties to view and found the one they loved on one of the
interior lakes nearby.  She enjoys reading, swimming, NFL football (go Packers!) and college basketball
(go Marquette!). Julie joined Newcomers/Longtimers at the kickoff in 2017.
Susan Akscin, News & Views - Susan and her husband, John, moved to the Lake from St. Louis
permanently in 2015 after having a condo at Lazy Days for over 25 years.  Susan retired in 2011 after
owning two businesses in St. Louis, a school of dance and a catering business.  John retired as a
federal lobbyist for oncology healthcare in 2012.  Susan and John have one married daughter and a 20
year old grandson that attends Kansas University.
